Religious organizations often provide religious services, youth education, social, and nonprofit activities. Many religious organizations rely on membership dues and donations and religious school fees. With the majority of religious activities requiring in-person large group gatherings, organizations had to adjust to continue to offer their members services. Some religious organizations may have struggled with membership prior to COVID-19 and found some abilities to broaden their reach through the provision of virtual programming.
The following practices are being implemented by various religious institutions around the county and nation to address COVID-19-related disruptions. These practices may be helpful for religious institutions not currently using them.
